Some disasters or calamities that we are experiencing are floods, earthquakes, typhoons, and many more. These disasters that happens suddenly and causes much suffering to many people, and it is something that has a very bad effect or result to us.           Even though sometimes, we are experiencing these strong calamities, we must stay strong always. Every year on the month of July, we celebrate the National Nutrition Month. “Kumain nang Wasto, Maging aktibo, Push natin ‘to!”, is the theme of this year’s Nutrition Month Celebration. The purpose of this celebration is to encourage every one of us to be healthy and have a healthy lifestyle. The theme means that we should be aware of what we are eating, if it is good to our body or not. Our health is our wealth. The nutrition is very important for us to stay healthy and fit. Eating is a necessity but we must eat intelligently. We should eat healthy foods like vegetables and fruits and do not eat more on foods that can affect your body like a lot of junk foods, soft drinks, sweets, and many more. National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

      People from different parts of the Philippines took part in the nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council along with Department of Education.      Some schools nationwide once proven their readiness in facing disasters after joining this earthquake drill. The drill is purposely designed to promote disaster awareness, preparedness, and how to response to earthquake among the students and school personnel. Proper execution of school drills will also prevent panic, which might lead to accidents when everyone is full of fear during an earthquake.     Being prepared can reduce the fear and anxiety. It is celebrated on June 12 in celebration of the nation’s independence from the Spanish. Also, Independence Day celebrates the birth of a new nation.           This day reminds us how great it is to be free. Freedom is something that all people deserves.       Hi! I am Ashley Nicole R. Lazo. I am 15 years old and was born on July 19, 2004. I am from Cabaroan, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur. I am currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School and a Grade 10 student from the Special Math Class. When I was in elementary, I used to  play the game Volleyball and became one of the players to represent our school. Also, I enjoyed dancing back then that's why I am one of the chosen dancers to join in Longganisa and Binatbatan Festival. I am a humble and compassionate person.
